Lowell Baumunk is Iris Colorado's hybridizer. He has been working with bearded irises in all classes since the move to Iris Colorado's semi-rural locale in 1991. Six of his hybrids have won American Iris Society medals as the best in their class.

Gretchen Baumunk Simons, Lowell's sister,is well-known for the
exquisite glass beads she makes.
